Guanjia Wins First Prize of the 2013 Dongguan Science and Technology Award

2014.07.10

The proposed award‑winning projects for the 2013 Dongguan Science and Technology Award were publicly announced on June 3 on the website of the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology. Guanjia's project "Research, Development and Application of a Parallel‑Type Energy‑Saving Electronic Load" was awarded the First Prize of the 2013 Dongguan Science and Technology Award.

The parallel‑type energy‑saving electronic load is a self‑initiated project of Dongguan Guanjia Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. It constitutes a core sub‑project of the company's energy‑saving burn‑in testing system. The project was initiated in February 2009 based on market department surveys and customer feedback. The overall technical scheme was formally determined in July 2009, and the product was officially promoted and deployed in December 2010. The entire R&D process was carried out independently by the company's own technical personnel and facilities, with all R&D funding provided solely by the company. It is therefore a proprietary R&D project. The product falls under the sub‑category "New Energy‑Saving Devices for Power Transmission and Distribution Systems and Industrial Applications" within the technical field of "Informatization and Automation Technology for Power Systems," which itself belongs to the broader domain of "High‑Technology Transformation of Traditional Industries" as defined in the National Key High‑Technology Fields. The parallel‑type energy‑saving load employs advanced power electronics conversion technology to reduce the electricity consumption of burn‑in testing and production in power supply manufacturing enterprises by over 80%. At the same time, it lowers labour costs and equipment costs, conserves overall social resources, and makes a significant contribution to energy conservation and emission reduction.
